Venezuela
Is this a distraction from ongoing POTUS scandals?

Why is it necessary for the U S to attack Venezuela? Is it to distract Americans from the ongoing corruption in the US Federal Government?
I tried sizing up the potential US-Venezuela conflagration with a “Bully Ratio” of US/Venezuela numbers using information from diverse sources.
POPULATION2:
US 340 million; Venezuela 28.4 million. BULLY RATIO: 11.9
ECONOMICS2
—GDP: US 29.7 trillion USD (26.2% of World GDP); Venezuela 482 billion USD (0.43% of World GDP). BULLY RATIO: 61.6
—PER CAPITA GDP: US 85,810 USD; Venezuela 15,944 USD. BULLY RATIO: 5.38
—POVERTY RATE3: US 18%; Venezuela 33.1%
MILITARY MANPOWER4
—US 2.1 million Venezuela 351,000. BULLY RATIO: 5.98
ARMAMENTS
—The US has a vast arsenal5.
—Venezuela6 has only about 40 combat aircraft, 50 military helicopters, 4 submarines, 6 frigates, 10 corvettes, 20 patrol vessels, and nil destroyers, cruisers, battleships and aircraft carriers.
—I don’t know how to compute an overall armaments BULLY RATIO, but the US firepower7 is infinitely superior in terms of numbers, training, quality, etc.
To wage war is immoral under all circumstances.
To wage war without being threatened is abominable.
To wage war considering the above mismatch in military resources of the US and Venezuela is criminal.
Should we not make better use of US resources, such as addressing the above noted 18% US poverty rate, dealing with Global Warming, providing healthcare for all, supporting public education, and more?
The only reason I can see for attacking Venezuela, which is rich in bio and cultural diversity, is to gain total control of its considerable natural resources8, such as oil, natural gas, iron ore, bauxite, gold and tourism. This would be an international mugging for the benefit of the POTUS and his oligarchs, financed by US taxpayers and American and Venezuelan blood.
The current corruption in our government, as well as the oppressive policies of the POTUS regime, do not give the US a moral high ground to act against other countries.
The current US administration wants to draw attention away from its faltering economy, the Epstein Sex Trafficking and Blackmail scandal, and other corrupt acts that involve the POTUS.

Stand for justice, peace, compassion, nonviolence, and do so every day. Be vocal in resisting the call to war with Venezuela. Oppose violence every day.

I agree Manuel that land, sea and air attacks on Venezuela may very well be Trump's next distraction to divert the American people's growing disgust of him as his poll numbers plummet, as Republican politicians are starting to develope a spine to oppose his extremist measures to grab more power, as he turns his back on Ukraine to hand the country over to Putin, as he has gotten caught committing war crimes by brazenly murdering drug dealers on the high seas, as he has threatened to deprive the middle and lower classes of health benefits while lowering taxes for billionaires, and especially now that he has been humiliated into signing off on a law passed by both Houses of Congress requiring the DOJ to disclose thousands and thousands of documents pertaining to Trump's good old buddy Jeffrey .Epstein.
The idea of taking the country to war to distract the public from Trump's heinous acts and public humiliations was Trump's brainstorm right after his public humiliation on June 14 when the draft dodger-in-chief got the military parade he deserved. June 14, 2025 was billed as the military parade to end all parades, which would lead to the glorification of Donald Trump on his 79th birthday as the Master of the Universe, which would even transcend his own claim that he "rules the country and the world". As we all know, the line of straggly soldiers slovenly marching out of step with a proud display of indifference was a huge fiasco, and a total humiliation to Trump.
So was it then a mere coincidence that at that very moment, he just happened to do a quick turn-around, reject the assessment of his own intelligence organizations and tell Iran and the world that unless Iran agrees to "unconditional surrender", the U.S. would join in Israel's attack on Iran, which is exactly what Trump ordered?
Did it work? You bet it did. It took the entire world's attention off the egg on Trump's face and onto the question of whether he was leading us into a nuclear war.
Since then, a long list of domestic political setbacks for Trump and his menagerie of political clowns and servile politicians became increasingly interspersed with threats of invading Venezuela, Mexico, and Nigeria and also of doggedly blowing up and murdering 83 people in boats on the high seas off Latin and South America who were suspected of being drug runners, whom Trump has since redefined as "narco-terrorists" to attempt to justify killing them in cold blood right on the spot.
So I believe that you are right Manuel in surmising that conducting land, sea and air attacks on Venezuela might just be Trump's next distraction ploy to take the public's mind off of Donald Trump being his loathsome self.
It is a part of the dictator’s playbook. I shake my head in disgust. Where are the Republicans? He must be removed, expunged, put away in jail, or impeached. He is clearly trying to going to drag all of us into hell with him.
