Sounds like a shift to a much more enjoyable culture to me. Thanks for posting, Manuel.

Excellent topic and something each reader can start doing if they already aren't doing it. However the article you reference was way to long and confused me on what point(s) they were trying to drive to focus on. Your summary was far better and to the point.

In regards to saving food waste we were fortunate to take a Norwegian coast cruise this spring on Havana cruise line. They used portion control on all their meals. You could eat as much as you wanted but was served in portions. Thus, you are your portions and if you wanted more then would give it to you versus order more than you want and throwing away what you did not want, Their goal is to reduce 70 to 80% of their food waste. I found this as an interesting and effective way to address food waste on a cruise ship.

Thanks for your comment, Scott. It might be a matter of being mindful of what we do. As I understand, our body is quick in responding (or over-responding) to hunger and slow to sense satiety. A thought for July 4th celebrating...

Thanks, I agree, Verónica. With a little "presence" we can do much good.

Manuel, I have long been concerned about food waste. This is definitely something that needs some change in laws. I am glad for any move in this direction, both for the sake of those who need food and for the sake of the environment. Thank you for posting this. When I was on the cruise we were allowed to order half portions. I am going to suggest this for our donor dinners because there is a lot of food wasted because some people cannot eat the full portion.
