Life offers many opportunities for humans to show their mettle.
Throughout history, small groups of people have resisted superior forces to give time to their larger contingent to withdraw to safety. They have selflessly and courageously stood against oppressors to protect their way of life, their society, their families.
On January 6, 2021, thousands of MAGA supporters attempted to overthrow our government and establish a dictatorship led by the incumbent president of the United States who had been defeated in legitimately held elections. A small, courageous force of Capitol Police held off the MAGA supporters for two hours until relief forces arrived. These public servants preserved American Democracy and protected the Vice President of the United States as well as hundreds of members of Congress and their staff. Those public servants protected our way of life, our society, our families.
Over recent weeks we have witnessed the progress of the criminal case against the 45th president of this country. This process concluded with findings of guilt on all 34 charges against the accused. The judge, the prosecutorial team and the jury of citizen peers proved their mettle by peacefully executing their duty. Our democratic process was preserved by the courage of these civil servants and citizens who chose to remain in their posts despite threats to themselves and their family from MAGA terrorists and even leaders of the GOP. Those fellow citizens rose to the occasion and protected our way of life, our society, our families.
In fulfilling their duties, Judge Juan Manuel Merchán, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Leonard Bragg, Jr., members of the sworn jury, et. al., preserved the rule of law. Despite verbal and online attacks on them and their families by GOP partisans, they stood firm. Their actions reinforce faith in the rule of law, provide inspiration to all Americans and is a source of joy to all lovers of freedom. Those fellow citizens rose to the occasion and protected our way of life, our society, our families.
The MAGA forces continue to intimidate and harass these heroes. It is up to us to protect them from all harm.

This is a time that calls for everyone to show those who would upturn the rule of law that it won’t be tolerated.
Everywhere we can and whenever we can.
"If this can happen to me, then it can happen to YOU." The only truthful statement coming from that man's mouth ... translated: "If you wantonly break laws, and the evidence of those wrong doings is collected, you will be prosecuted - no one is above the law. Even me."
