I often view such world events with sadness and a sense of powerlessness (when I have the stomach to view them at all). I can vote. I can write. I can plant pollinator-friendly flowers. I can cook a meal for a friend. I can clean the carpet where the cat just puked a fur-ball. (But I digress)
Keep stirring the pot. Keep tending your garden. And hydrate.
The seemingly endless violence, the black and white thinking, and the unchallenged loyalty to old, failed ideas and strategies can be so demoralizing. Replacing the old guard with new ideas and compassion for all parties is the only way to evolve past these age-old quagmires.
I was trying to find a way to express my feelings without.adding insult to injury.
Manuel: you have done it for me and I have shared it. I too have friends AND family on both sides of the Israeli/Gaza conflict. I have MANY friends in Ukraine, who are living without security for their future. I cannot even imagine life in Haiti! Then of course there is Somalia, Yemen, Cyprus, Iraq, Lybia, and, unfortunately, the list goes on. Your words are perfectly diplomatic and straight to the point. Some days I find it harder to think straight than others. Your words are like a compass .Thank you!
Just love to add "Doctors without Borders" to the list.
Any contribution to healing whether within ourselves, or down the street, or half way around the world matters. As Manuel pointed out last week, "pace ourselves."
You know I am in alignment with you on this Manuel. When I feel powerless (which is often) I remind myself to make a difference in my own small slice of the world and hope the ripples go forth. Making contributions to organizations that can have an impact is one way I can reach outside my small world. I make a monthly contribution to World Central Kitchen and ACLU to make a bigger splash in the world and a monthly contribution to our local food bank in the spirit of that hoped for ripple. I kinda am glad that life is short. I watch as the generations walk over the cliff and new babes enter the human race. Maybe the species is evolving and that's what it is about?

Thanks for your comment, Merrilee. If we don't stir the pot the porridge burns. 😎

Thanks, Mark. I agree. May it come to pass in haste!
"old failed ideas"
old ... failed ... deadly ideas.
Solid call to action. Would add vote this year versus sit on the sidelines
Thanks for your comment, Scott. Vote indeed!

I do believe that all life is in eternal transformation.
I'm coming to that understanding as well.

and you too, Manuel.
