UN PUBLIC SERVICE DAY

Is it another self-service day for the POTUS?

Today, June 23, 2025, the United Nations celebrates Public Service Day. In the words of UN Secretary General António Guterres, “Public servants are the unsung architects of a better future…. At a time when public service is belittled or maligned, it is especially meaningful to recognize the passion and dedication of all women and men around the world striving to build stronger communities, promote human dignity and accelerate action to realize the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Unfortunately, the POTUS has chosen a daily celebration of self-service. He has dedicated his term to self-enrichment for himself and his supporters.

The POTUS actions are not limited to self-enrichment and include the use of the country’s resources to prop up his image. For example, the U S supply of weaponry to Netanyahu and the subsequent criminal and unconstitutional bombing of Iran by the U S on 21June2025 is a staged crisis. It is meant to divert attention from the failed and unpopular policies that the convicted felon POTUS and his sycophants have unilaterally imposed on Americans.

Timothy Snyder, in his book, On Tyranny, Lesson 18 warned us of this common ruse by autocrats. The book is a highly recommended antidote to POTUS fascism.

Today the USA has a would-be-king for president. Elements in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of its Federal, State and local governments support POTUS and his autocratic policies. They do so even as he violates the US Constitution.

The POTUS has decimated the ranks of U. S. Public Service Workers— the American People will suffer from reduction in public health services, the CDC, the NIH, Medicaid services, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the offices of civil rights protection, the emergency management services, tge internal revenue services, and many other services, and will foot the bill and be hurt by his actions and corruption.

It is time for all Americans to reject fascism in the USA.

All American public officials should vigorously repudiate fascism every day, just like the massive protests by Americans demonstrate.
