Antidote To Bigotry
Sometimes lessons come unexpectedly.
In these times of fear and dread in the US, we would not expect a measured, rational response from the fascist regime in power to adverse events of national importance. We are used to having adverse events portrayed by the POTUS as attacks on our national security and opportunities for him to blame and bludgeon the opposition.
What if the US had suffered an event like the power outage that left much of the Iberian Peninsula in utter darkness, with its citizens deprived of their phone communications, electric trains involuntarily idled, and other services truncated?
Would the current U S government have acted responsibly, calmly assessing the situation? Would the POTUS regime have strived to calm the fears and apprehensions of a population suddenly thrown into approaching darkness?
In exemplary fashion, the Spanish people and their government acted as responsible adults, and diligently worked to address the imposed blackout cooperatively. A sense of community blossomed, people shared lights, food, water, and conversation provided the comfort of companionship while they were immersed in the power outage. Social services were provided voluntarily by individuals and by public and private institutions.
There was common trust. There was faith that services would be restored. There was little fear of muggings and opportunistic crime. As can be seen in the link provided below: “Calm, generosity and dedication among public servants and workers prevailed.”
Spain has over 9 million foreign-born people, amounting to over 19% of its population. Five million of them were born in non-European countries. Almost 7 million of those foreign-born lack Spanish citizenship.
How many of the foreign-born rose up to overturn the government, loot businesses, assault the citizenry? None, zero, zilch.
Everyone cooperated, as human beings should. In the United States, under a fascist government, we have much to learn.
The difference between a fear-mongering fascist regime, such as the one in the US, and a government that provides benevolent care for its people is clear: it is decency.
We, the American people, have the necessary resources to install a government that takes care of the people, free of the foghorns of demagogues.

This is why President Biden used the time after Felonius ‘won’ the election in 2024 to say repeatedly ‘character counts’. President Biden exhorted about decency but it fell on deaf ears.
For the party of ‘family values’ that are so worried about fetal cells I find the hypocrisy infuriating as they traffic human beings without due process!!
Empathy and character matter. Money is a tool. Musk has too much money and lacks empathy and character. Trump is on a revenge tour. He’s just the pawn in the game for Steven Miller and the rest of the sycophantic administration.
If anything, the tRump regime would intentionally black out strategic regions to take control of our country. The threat is coming from inside the house. 💔
