JOYFUL PIECE #91
We thought we "conquered" them—they still laugh at us.
The sensation starts in my mouth and migrates to my heart. There it sits like an immense boulder of oppression. It wants me to hate. It wants me to despise, to squash the oppressor.
There is a link between hate and fear. Perhaps it is my fear of succumbing to hate that is so oppressive.
It is difficult to witness the destruction of this nation, one vile hack at a time from the hands of common and uncommon criminals who lie, and steal the heart of this country— a country whose history is written in the blood, sweat and tears of victims of greedy plunderers over the centuries.
The feelings are similar to those I have had in my youth from encounters with school bullies and later from corporate and political bullies. Yet, the feeling is more intense. At stake is my very soul if I yield to hate.
I lift my eyes and see the photo that I share above. They are replicas of Totonac ceramic faces that hung in their humble homes in ancient Veracruz. The flames of their hearths would heighten their merry countenance.
I leave my funk and remember the timelessness of Joy. I relax and breath.
#Resistance will overcome evil with love, compassion and Joy.

Thank you Manuel. I can relate to how you're feeling. I feel the same as you do. It's an everyday battle not to give way to hate but we must do everything we can to not let it consume us. I am going through some very difficult times and I am barely hanging on and I often feel like giving up but I apply your words of wisdom and encouragement in my personal life. I always look forward to your posts. I don't feel so alone in my struggle.
What Yvonne said. Thank you, both.
One of the greatest crimes of this "administration" is the theft of peace and joy. I'll be fighting back for the survival of the nation. I'll be somewhere on April 5th. I'll keep writing. I'll keep supporting the people fighting for us.
But the day, the Evil Ones ruin one of my entire days is the day they have won a battle. Not going to happen. I have a core happiness that won't surrender to hate. The Karma Cops are coming. It's all part of the inevitable pendulum swing. Everything ultimately returns to the mean - as in the center - not the nasty :)
