The choice is ours...

The grace of the orchid…

Beauty is all around us and is ours to enjoy or ignore. Creation is balanced by the forces of opposites, the good and beautiful and the bad and ugly. We make a difference by our selection.

Some people are down because the POTUS and his corrupt alliance are in power. But he cannot be a happy person knowing that 78 million Americans, a number that is growing by the day, oppose him.

Throughout my life I have faced many bullies in all walks of life. The one thing that they all had in common was weakness and fear. When they were confronted firmly they always backed down. When resolve was missing the influence of the bullies grew.

We have a crop of fascists in the federal government trying to dismantle it. We must oppose them through many forms— our actions, our deportment, our speech, our resolve. Resistance must be our constant stance— smart resistance that looks to the vulnerabilities of the fascist at hand and responds accordingly.

Our presence, promoting love, compassion, peace, and goodness, with patience and in faithfulness to gentleness and self-control will provide a clear example of what a great America can be: a country liberated from the grip of fear, greed, groupthink, mass hysteria, addiction, and violence; a country where the feeling of entitlement, indifference, isolation and suspicion is rarely found.

What fuels resolve in confronting the fascists is the inner joy that glows inside our being because we know that we are not seeking self-gain but the greater good.

Tap that joy. It will keep you warm in these cold politically dark nights where gazillionaires cozy-up to the bully-in-chief, who is, after all, a felon.

Do not allow the POTUS and his supporters to dampen your inner fire. Stop and perceive the beauty…and joy— they continually flourish.

Joy is a form of resistance.
