Thank you for sharing the videos. Nature is a never-ending source of wonder and delight! I have found that when I am facing the most difficult struggles, my best solution is to focus my attention on the smallest details in nature (by which I mean the buglets on the urban sidewalks or flowers in someone's yard -- it doesn't have to be a daylong trek in the mountains). When I focus on the exquisite beauty of a beetles carapace, or the delicate tracings on a leaf, it brings me into the present, where I can take one full breath and be okay.
Such a lovely bird! I was fortunate enough to spot a Woodcock on a deserted nature trail one winter, shifting fallen oak and cottonwood leaves in the undergrowth. Their markings and coloration are stunning. Sadly, I didn’t see the dance, but watching the videos I hear KC and the Sunshine Band in my head: Do a little dance! Eat a little worm! Get down tonight... 😂
What a delightful morning greeting for me! Thank you! BTW, I enjoyed reading Better Living Through Birding. It earned four out of five stars in my opinion. Here is my short review if you are interested. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5913061453
I am glad that you enjoyed it! Since Cooper's book was a gift, I thought it was a birding resource until I made some progress into it. It tells an inspiring story that I am not rushing through — I read it every day. Thanks for sharing your Goodreads post. I quote you: "I enthusiastically recommend this book. Read it to learn some things, read it for sharp writing, and read it for an occasional chuckle." I too post on Goodreads. Have a great day!
I thought I had previously identified a Woodcock but I've been amusingly corrected.

Gracias por compartir. Me encantó. Se lo mande a una amiga en Massachusetts y a un amigo en Galicia, ambos son observadores de aves y fotógrafos.
Gracias Verónica, son vídeos muy cómicos e instructivos. Buen día!
Have witnessed this amusing dance. The world is full of wonders.
It certainly is if we alert to the wonders. Thanks, Sally.
I think it’s got a great beat and is an uplifting video. Thank you for sharing
I hope to see one someday!
Presence, Leanna, presence. Thanks for your comment.
