Giving and receiving...
I wrote a verbose 800 word would-be post on Joy that will not be shared. Instead I offer the following story.
My family showered me with the 11 tomes of Will Durant's The Story of Civilization. The stack was two feet high. I was honestly shocked. Over 11,000 pages to read at my age!
I do not recall ever running across this masterful piece.
Having begun to read the Our Oriental Heritage volume, finishing the preface has hooked me.
To die without reading Durant's masterpiece would be a pity.
Joy is giving and receiving thoughtful gifts.
