Is global warming help on the way?
Human heat waves of hatred and mayhem have been assaulting us.
At the same time ambient heat waves and extreme storms assail us from our careless management of greenhouse gases emanating from fossil fuel burning man-made machinery.
The good news is that newly agreed clean air standards will provide limits to methane pollution from all oil and gas sources, new and existing.
U S methane emissions from oil and gas industry operations have “…the same near-term climate impact as 350 coal-fired power plants”, according to the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
Aside from global warming, methane emissions from oil and gas leaks, venting and flaring pollute the air that all life needs— a direct impact on human health (and survival). And this impact is especially acute and disproportionate on economically disadvantaged communities that reside near the emission sources.
Clean-up time is here and the message is clear to entities responsible for emissions.
The announcement from the U S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is indeed cause for joy. The human frogs currently being slow boiled from global warming may yet be rescued, survive!
There is more to learn at this link to the Environmental Defense Fund website.
EXTRA JOYFUL PIECE: There is a wonderful documentary on Netflix portraying musician Jon Batiste and his life partner, author Suleika Jaouad. I found it to be a heart-warming production, especially in these times of human strife.

Thank you for the hopeful spark!
I also appreciate your comments re: the Jon Batiste documentary. Like many other people, I met him through Stephen Colbert and have watched him with such delight. I saw a mention of the documentary but I was reluctant to watch it b/c one more painful thing in the world. I NEED heart warming, though. I will catch it on the weekend.
Great to hear a positive article about the environment for a change. Thank you for sharing.
