"So, I reach for the frail thread of faith, and hopeful, begin to retrieve the joy that I was in danger of ignoring. " Can you tell me what it is that you have faith in? Faith in humanity? Faith in a caring presence? Say more, please.

Thanks for this difficult question, Graciewilde. It is difficult for me to articulate a response. Volumes have been written on this topic.

I have faith that we are here to collaborate in the the great task of creation. That we, all of us, comprise a living composite being called humanity. Each of us, "good" or "bad", is necessary— some or us are examples of beneficial actors and some of us are examples of actors to avoid imitating so as not to harm other beings.

Does that make sense?

That does make sense. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I like your notion that each one of us is necessary in this grand drama. It makes me wonder if I have faith in the grand drama? 🤣 But, really? Really I think I must have faith in that grand drama. I have spent most of my life in the service of others, embracing and enjoying that work. Behind it always was the idea that every person deserves to be seen, to have what they need to thrive in their lives . I don't have faith that all people are going to get that (clearly they don't) but I am willing to reach out where I can. Thanks for your thoughtful words.

We must believe we can do better than we are. Faith may console but acts of humanity can save us.

Yes. Thanks for your comment, Patris.

Thank you for this. There is beauty, always, even amongst the rubble. One doesn't erase the other. They exist together.
