Advent begins
On the first Sunday of Advent, I contemplated the finished Nativity scene on our piano. Embers of joy & hope were subtly rekindled.
Jesus was born in the time of Herod the Great, a client king of the Roman Emperor.
Today a man, petty in character, with ties to the Epstein child-trafficking scandal, serially convicted, purports to hold sway over our nation. Did that man choose to place himself and this nation subservient to the Emperor? Is the emperor his ego, a fusion of Gog and Magog, or the Russian president? Only that man knows.
We have the opportunity to continue this story, in compassion, justice, and nonviolent resistance.
Will we do it?
Joyfully resist everyday.
