I agree. The outdoor spaces offer so much to human beings. I live in an area that is rich in natural beauty, including a dash of the Pacific coastline. Californians worked hard some years back to preserve coastal access for public enjoyment and I have been forever grateful. The ocean offers such peace and solitude for me and yet I can be in community while I am enjoying that serenity.

Life sent us to the Northwest where I took advantage of the magnificent wilderness: the Hoh, the Olympic Peninsula, Mt Rainier, Snoqualmie and surrounds...Beautiful memories that fill my chest with joy! Thanks for waking them up, Graciewilde!

Have had many an amazing walks along the path around the Lake weaving into downtown Austin, taking bridges across the water, enjoying bats rising, egrets and great blue herons standing guard. Only a guess, but I suspect Austin has as many dogs per capita as anywhere I've ever been! I love how all Austinites have access to such extensive and accessible green space. Something heavy on my mind is the number of unhoused who have sought refuge under trees near rest stops along the path. My prayer is we join our brains and brawn to solve the increasing economic crisis of the unhoused.

Hi, Karen. The homeless crisis is very complex and gnaws at me. So many with such diversity of needs. An unemployed person who loses housing is in a desolate situation and in a difficult position to get back on the employment horse and reintegrate into society. A friend of ours invited us to fund Foundation Communities. It builds housing complexes for homeless individuals and families and provides structure, education and social support in a drug-free environment. I know that the problem is beyond my contributions' reach, but we do what we can and hope and work to influence others to keep open eyes, open hearts, and at times open wallets to care for one another. Peace to you and all.

PS: I need to gather my thoughts and post my experiences on this relentless human crisis. Thanks for provoking my long response.🙏🏻
