Our lives are short and can be extremely difficult and painful for so many human beings. As people of faith, is not our mission to discern meaning from this dance of life by focusing on the needs of others and placing our wants in second place?
Acquaintances, friends, relatives, and fellow humans are suffering from illnesses, layoffs, looming bankruptcies, inflation, and political persecution in this country. Why is it necessary for our government to focus on war, power, and oppression when the national expenditures on armaments already exceed, by many multiples, those of China and Russia combined?
Why is our government focused on stamping out freedom of speech when the only chance of meeting the awesome social and climactic challenges that we face in common is through our combined intellectual resources?
History reminds us of past accomplishments and failures. Should not the government stop censoring our knowledge of past events so we can avoid the mistakes of the past?
Since the nation's inception the self evident truths have been the citizen's "inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".
When will we, as citizens, including politicians, begin to address the fundamentals of the citizens' "inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"?
What is there to do
when the Christ’s Cross gets hijacked?
Breathe, reach out, claim back.
...
What is there to do
when Old Glory gets kidnapped?
Breathe, reach out, make plans.
...
What is there to do
when Lady Liberty cries?
Breathe, reach out, hold tight.
...
What is there to do
when Lady Justice gets hacked?
Breathe, reach out, join hands.
We're trying, Manuel, but it's like climbing a cliff at the moment.
