That photo just sends the message home, Manuel. I'd argue that non humans (all of which are sentient beings) are more pure in spirit and therefore superior.
I used to say that I liked babies but disliked what they became as adults. In face of what is happenimg in the world, I have changed my mind: I like "animals" (I would like to come up with a different word, since nowadays more humans act as animals than the so called animals.
As technology progresses and scientist can study animals closer than ever before, we get access to videos , documentaries and written⁸ accounts of animals' selfless humanity, their ability to show unconditional love, empathy and above all gratitude, something many so-called humans have forgotten all about. So, to answer Manuel Garcia's very apt question: Get out and vote blue all the way down the line. If you happen to see any of the abominable, known wretched individuals who keep stirring the pot while filling their pockets, give them a piece of your mind. If you are unable, just flipp them you middle finger and move on. The least attention they get, the sooner they will fade away into oblivion.
The right murders God's creatures with glee. They're missing out.
I have friends up here in northern Idaho who hunt and I have spoken my mind, telling them, imagine if you hunted with a camera, what amazing images you'd get. At least one of them pondered the thought. But they love blood.
I prefer being closer to pure nature. Although, if I were to come back as a furry or other critter, I hope it would be as an herbivore 😆🥰
My little family is an everyday example of the melting-pot-we-are: My lineage is mostly German and Scottish, throw in a dash of English ... stir in a smidge of Cherokee a few gens back. Notice my black sister-in-law and nephew who identifies as "black." Welcome my Persian son-in-law and three beautiful grandlings - one part Jew, one part Muslim by heritage. Dare anyone attempt to divide us. We are small in number - and true to the great history of this country that makes all this love and family possible! We all must vote to preserve what's given us freedom of choice.
I read somewhere (sorry, so long ago I don’t have a citation) that would take only 2000 years for the descendants of a sub-Saharan person to be blonde and blue eyed. We are all the same race. I’d like us to win. Together.
Exactly. There’s only one race. Different ethnicities that should be respected. Religion & skin color have been used as excuses for horrifying actions, which no animal but human ones would ever do.
To me the answer is clear but I challenge others to take a step back and thing about what you think about when we say the United States of America, not the Devisive States of America and vote accordingly
For some of us, “all creatures“ means just that. Human beings, canine beings, and bovine, feline, ALL creatures great and small deserve dignity in life. And I agree all are sentient beings. I believe even a tree “senses” its own sapling as distinct from others.
And my take on race: does it matter? Shouldn’t, but it does. Further divisions beyond “human” lead to “we” and “they” jealousies and fears. This is why humans have no compassion for the many millions of who already being displaced because of climate change. Shortages of food and water ALREADY drive millions to find a place to LIVE. and this country, indeed the world has NO PLAN to adjust its borders, resources, and lives to slow (if not retard) the great extinction.
Instead of killing and stealing from the peoples who lived in North America, we should have learned from them about being part of life on earth, not OWNERs of life on earth. Alas, our “christian” heritage made us believe we were/are superior beings. See what that has got us.
Race only matters to those who wish to divide us because of our many differences. There is only one race and that is the human race. We came in many different shades of color. But our basic DNA is the same. Our ancient ancestral family came from the same place. The great migration led to the creation of the diverse peoples we are today. And together we are all better for it.

H. Sapiens has an over developed ego and deficient humility. We have lots to learn.
Thank you for your spirited comment, Verónica. I always appreciate your insight. Have a wonderful weekend.
So well said, Manuel.
Agreed, on all points, Veronica!

Thanks for your beautiful summary, Karen, and compassionate views that can only come, in my assessment, from rich and diverse roots.

Thanks for your comment, June, and for the key word "together".

Yes, Sue. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment, Scott. Well said.
I think the fact is, we have not yet evolved beyond tribalism.
Thanks for your comment, Carolyn. It is scary that we have such power at an early stage of our development.

Sorry for the ramble.
Thanks for your powerful piece.
Thanks for your thoughtful reply, RPat. Far from being a ramble, it speaks truth. 🙏🏻
As it’s a construct of human invention, it shouldn’t and the fact that it does, speaks volumes regarding human evolution.
Thanks for your comment. Evolution seems painfully slow at times, but let's persist on being compassionate. 🙏🏻
Yes, compassion, patience and prayers!

Well stated, Frank. Thank you.
Humans still cower in the dark shadow of the cave.
Thanks for your comment, Frederick. Fear is our greatest danger.
We have deranged ourselves out of our prey-nature, our abundant fear that we can't survive. How sad - we've become the greatest predator.
And we are the prey as well. Thanks for your comment, Karen.
