And as emigrants reach the shores of relative freedom they get caught in the new shore's drive to amalgamate the citizenry. Individuality becomes secondary to safety and survival, and even the "gospel of success" preached here, and probably elsewhere as well, helps to obfuscate the past. 🥲 And so it goes, ad nauseam...
